Crafts, cake-making and other coping strategies: Burning Nights launches CRPS self-care packs

While doctors mostly focus on how to deal with the physical pain linked to CRPS, looking after your mental health is a key aspect of managing this debilitating illness. That’s especially true as we emerge from the coronavirus pandemic that has left many CRPS patients feeling even more isolated than before. Proactively taking care of yourself can help you to feel better emotionally, even if it can’t entirely take your pain away.

Our packs are thoughtfully designed to give CRPS patients ideas for getting on the move – even if you’re sitting down. They will help you think more positively and get your creative juices flowing. Take inspiration from uplifting quotes, learn how to practice mindfulness and release the artist within by colouring mandalas. The packs will help you have a go at journaling, set yourself some goals or bake some delicious banana bread. There are also ‘tightrope’ walks for children, TikTok dance moves for teens and a therapy-themed crossword for adults. And once you’ve done all of that, check out our top sleep tips to try and get a better night’s rest!

Burning Nights CRPS Support has produced three self-care kits: the Sunshine pack for children aged 7-12, the Sunflower pack for teenagers aged 13-18 and the Phoenix pack for anyone over 18. These colourful magazine-style brochures with around 60 pages will be available to order from our website and will cost £19.75. Join us as we try to beat the CRPS blues together!
