Payroll Giving

Also known as ‘give as you earn’, Payroll Giving is the easy and tax-efficient way to regularly donate to Burning Nights.

What is Payroll Giving?

If you are an employee paid by PAYE, this scheme allows you to give to Burning Nights each payday. Donations are taken from your salary before tax, so each pound you give costs you less.

For example -

A £10 donation costs you:

  • £8 if you are on the basic tax rate of 20%
  • £6 if you are on the higher tax rate of 40%

A £5 donation costs you:

  • £4 if you are on the basic tax rate of 20%
  • £3 if you are on the higher tax rate of 40%

Why choose to give this way?

  • Donating from your salary when you are paid is one of the easiest and most tax-efficient ways to give.
  • It’s simple to set-up and, once done, that’s it: no forms to complete, bank details to share, or letters to send.
  • Payroll Giving is hugely valuable to Burning Nights, with regular donations allowing us to budget and plan ahead.
  • Some employers will also match the money given this way, doubling your donation to us.
  • You can cancel Payroll Giving at any time.

How do I set it up?

Firstly check with your HR or payroll department as they may already offer a Payroll Giving scheme you can join.

If they don’t, please encourage them to sign up to GoodPAYE.

GoodPAYE is a trusted Payroll Giving platform that charges zero fees and is quick and simple for companies to use. It integrates with all payroll software and transfers employee donations to their nominated charities with no extra admin involved.

Burning Nights is one of GoodPAYE’s charity partners so it's even easier to set-up a donation to us.
