Title of study:
Exploring Employer Provisions for Employees with Chronic Pain: A Mixed-Methods Study
What is the purpose of the study?
Chronic pain is a serious public health concern in the UK. Approximately one-third to one-half of the population, or around 28 million people, experience chronic or persistent pain. Chronic pain can have a negative impact on people’s quality of life. The work environment, and access to facilities and support to help with the management of pain while at work can influence an individual’s work participation and enjoyment, as well as their health, well-being, and quality of life.
This study aims to explore the current support mechanisms that are provided by employers for employees who have chronic pain. Findings can be used to highlight best practice and inform interventions to support people with chronic pain at work in the future.
